#2The EML is telling you there is a problem somewhere.
To find the problem, get to a garage that has a diagnostics machine. They'll hook it up and tell you what's wrong with your car.
You can't turn off the EML by disconnecting the battery, btw. -
#3I've got the fault codes..... got a new coil pack in to see if it works.
Need to get rid of the light though (remove the fault codes)
As i said in the first post, i have disconnected the battery over night.....twice, but no joy. -
#4fix the problems first mate i had the eml on fixed the faults and mine went off automaticaly
-
#5Oh right, so guess its not the coil pack...........
Just ordered a knock sensor.
Cheers -
#6what does the fault code say it is...? surely it makes sense to change that not just random bits lol
-
#7Whats a knock sensor?

#10Ignition - Integrated Phase detectionQuote:what does the fault code say it is...? surely it makes sense to change that not just random bits lol
Doesnt pinpoint anything in particular, im not just changing random parts. A friend had a spare so i thought it'd be worth a go before i start spending. -
#11think your best bet is to get it on a diagnostic machine, and get the actual code. Could be loads of things.
-
#12Okay, probably didnt make that clear to start with, i have the codes off it, the one im trying to sort is P1327 which translates to - Ignition - Integrated Phase detection.
But that could be anything from a spark missing to the knock sensor indicating piston slap! -
#13could be a tappet to tight , ie no gap too it happined to mine .
