ecu reset

I cant seem to reset mine, tried twice now, completely disconnecting the battery over night, but still not getting rid of this eml!?!?!? I don't understand

The EML is telling you there is a problem somewhere.

To find the problem, get to a garage that has a diagnostics machine. They'll hook it up and tell you what's wrong with your car.

You can't turn off the EML by disconnecting the battery, btw.

I've got the fault codes..... got a new coil pack in to see if it works.
Need to get rid of the light though (remove the fault codes)
As i said in the first post, i have disconnected the battery over night.....twice, but no joy.

what does the fault code say it is...? surely it makes sense to change that not just random bits lol

Detects engine knock. Then retards the ignition until the knocking stops - it allows the car to run on crappy fuel.

    Ignition - Integrated Phase detection

Doesnt pinpoint anything in particular, im not just changing random parts. A friend had a spare so i thought it'd be worth a go before i start spending.

think your best bet is to get it on a diagnostic machine, and get the actual code. Could be loads of things.

Okay, probably didnt make that clear to start with, i have the codes off it, the one im trying to sort is P1327 which translates to - Ignition - Integrated Phase detection.
But that could be anything from a spark missing to the knock sensor indicating piston slap!

could be a tappet to tight , ie no gap too it happined to mine .
