HELP-cant get window motor to fit back on

   hi all
   
   took half the window motor off so could get my hand in to sort door hinge/check strap etc. anyway i never ended up fixing that so thought sod it, but them bits back on.
   
   then went to put motor part back on and now it wont fit on, for some reason it wont go right up to the rest of motor, about a 1cm gap.
   
   any1 have any idea why? be getting dark soon so any replies would be great

   your probable catching on a wire, which is causing it not to go back

   no im not as the part with the sticker on, in there theres like a spindle kind of thing and for some reason thats not pushing far enough in to the other part, doing my head in now, iv even had the whole motor off but still cant sort it out

   if i go scrappy and get new complete motor will it work as normal or will i have to f**k about with it and the cables etc?
   
   some1 reply plz, im after getting rid of car soon and need last few probs sorting
