Dangerouse braking?? Seized"?

    need some seriouse help..if possible please..

    My rear brakes have seized again i think... Hand break is working not very well but its working... new pads and disks fitted few months ago

    Today going 50 i braked not alot was happening so i braked more and my front wheels locked.... Im sure ive got no rear brakes due to foot traveling far, spongey and real lack of brake power

    If they HAVE seized again whats causing this how can i fix this??

    Allso what disc should i be getting for the front looking to renew them?

    is its discs or drums at the back? and when you say seized do you mean they are braking and not letting go of the disc of is is just not moving when you brake. if any make sure the brakes are properly bleed. a spongy pedal means there is air in the system mate. if hubs you may need new brake shoes or some kind of maintance done.


    do not drive the car in this condition or you might see the other side of the hedge

    Disc at back sorry it's a 1999 saxo vtr mk1

    Try re-bleeding the brakes,if no joy then get it into a garage asap mate.

    Seized brakes can give the impression that there is air in the brake lines by the feel of the pedal having excess travel. This is because the piston is seized and stays stuck out i.e doesnt return when the pedal is released so the next time you press the pedal extra travel of the brake pedal is needed to put the fluid in the caliper under pressure although the braking effort is still poor ,so your lack of braking effort is more than likely your seized brakes, normally down to the piston in the brake caliper corroding and then seizing which is normally a result of a torn or damaged caliper piston dust cover

    Is car lowered? Could be a dodgy brake bias valve?

    Surely this wouldnt seize up the rear brakes or give a bad pedal as the bias valve only regulates the amount of fluid pressure sent to the rear brakes when the pedal is pressed. This would either cause no rear brakes or the rear brakes locking up too early, not excess travel or brake seizure

    ok cool, thanks for ur replys..brother inlaw taking a look at them sunday, they been un seized before.... mayb time for some new calipers?? would some from the scrappy be ok? doubt i can afford a new set

    check your master cylinder.

    allso what disc should i be getting http://www.eurocarparts.com/brake-disc theres two types different sizes ?
