    probably not.

    check for rust / broken axle / badly running engine.

    doesnt matter how much you check, something will break or be crappy, they're shit cars made even worse by the fact they're now getting old

    Check rust in arches boot floor and the underneath.
    Make sure it drives straight with no knocks, the cars do rattle but most can be sorted.
    Usual service history, MOTs to back mileage
    Check for major work done, clutch, cam belt, exhaust, tyres.

    Parts are cheap and easy to get so dont let problems put you off.

    If you just want a cheap, nippy and reliable car...buy something else.

    Cheap = yes
    Nippy = yes
    Reliable = not really.

    I am usually fixing something most weeks on mine.

    Look at the amount of threads in the Problems section for a kick off.....

    it makes good sense to buy a saxo if you go for a VTS version either 100 or 120 bhp. it is probably the funniest car you can get for this kind of money.
    the mechanical parts are ok quality, and the rust is no worse, than on many other cars.

    the electronics can be a pain in the ass, but if you don't mind some lights flashing on your dashboard from time to time, you will be able to live with it.

    its just common sense look over the car properly dont rush into the first thing that looks good on the outside a saxo is just like any other car with abit of age you always get age related problems with any car .

    Yeah I was think more saxo specific problems, like clunking suspension etc little things like that

    its hard to tell when somethings knocking going wrong on a saxo since they are so rattely anyways lol.. but if it drives well and its not rusting too badly then they are the main things as most mechanical bits are cheap to swap and fix
