   Early saxos use flat shafts, later saxos have tapered shafts, I dont think its as simple as mk1's and mk2's unfortunately

   nope, not as cut and dry. there was some cross breeding in the middle

   what year is your car?
   
   pre 1999 are flat
   99-00 are a pain and can be either
   01 onwards are tapered
