Knocking in 4th gear?

   Driving along today in 4th, and the Saxo has developed a rather nasty knocking sound coming from what sounds like the passenger side wheel while in 4th. Same sort of noise a driveshaft would make, but does it going in a straight line on smooth roads.
   
   Could be terminal for the gearbox?

   my mate had same problem with his punto but in reverse gear, turned out to be one of the teeth snapped off on the cog so he had to replace to box

   Sounds similar to what mine was like, and that was the driveshaft. Worth a check..
