Might be in the wrong place and there is alot of threads like this but here goes.

I have £800 to spend on my mk2 vtr but Im not sure what to get.

    Currently it has:
    - Angel eyes
    - 421 mani/straight through system
    - 205 gti wheels
    - induction kit
    - audio upgrades
    - lowered -30mm
    - green stuff pads and black dimond discs all round

    Idea would be much appreciated

Gaz Coillies are a wicked piece of kit. £400 in the 106oc group buy!
Gti Leathers are a great upgrade - You can get a fairly decent condition set for £150ish if you keep an eye on the forums etc.

The problem with the coilovers is that I had my rear beam reconditioned and I don't trust lowering it again, I have a feeling that off I undo anything it might fall to bits

why would a recon beam fall apart?

I would get some decent tyres/discs and pads and leave it.

Dont get why people go OTT spending on these. Im only doing so much and leaving it. i.e uprating rubbers etc..

The bearings where shot and started to eat into there housing and the garage replaced the bearings and not the housing because it needed to be done cheaply as I didn't have much money at the time of the work. It's only a feeling as I haven't been able to have a close look at the work done

Well tyres. Thats just me though.. im careful with my money and i wouldnt put £800 into my Saxo unless i needed to. I make sure everything mechanical is sweet and just enjoy the car. Its how i am.

    Up to you though.

That's how I am I just wanted to treat myself/give myself some work to do as work has slowed down alot.
  13. #13
If nothings wrong with it, leave it.

Other wise just save up your cash for a rainy day.

good tyres is well worth it. a decent set will improve the car more than any mod you can make
  15. #15
you can spend as much as you like on a saxo, but at the end of the day you cant fix something what isnt broke, so same goes really ide go a good set of tyres all round, braided brake lines.. just to minimise the stopping distance!, then again its up to you do whatever you fancy...

vts engine and improved brakes & suspension set up?
  17. #17
Personally would probably just save the cash as you'll never get it back spending it on a saxo but.. if i was to spend it i'd go for a c2 vts low milage engine and a good set of tyres and should still have some to spare if you do the work yourself

    16v conversion all the way

not to sound a dick but green stuff suck
and black diamond discs are pretty pointless

id reccomend yellow stuffs and plain discs

if it was me with 800

a new rear beam if yours is dodgy
a nice spring damper setup (i still stand firmly by the 50mm apex as a great start!)
full black powerflex bushes (stiffer then the purple)
    and some vibratchnices rears

but i like my cars to drive haha

Ok, so what the hell does seen seen mean then?!

with £800 you wanna get a decent 16v engine some 266mm brakes and a decent suspension setup with polybushes all round imo its pointless spending money on a VTr engine unless you gonna boost it
  28. #28
If it was a standard car is spend it,

    60mm springs
    205 speed lines
    421 Mani
    Supersprint race tube/backbox

And pocket the rest for a rainy day..
