Coolant loss after rad change-does this seem normal?

  1. #1
last weekend I did a rad change and fresh coolant, bled the system ok,topped up etc.
I've done about 100 miles this week and checked the level again this morning and it was just on minimum.I've topped it up now so will keep an eye on it but wonder if its (hopefully) just down to the levels sorting itself out over a period of time?
Cant seem any leaks anywhere, heaters works fine and no overheating.

Does this seem about normal after doing this work?

    Cheers

I know every time i bleed mine/change the coolant, after i've gone through the bleeding process i leave it for a few hours to get nice and cold. Then when i check after that, it its fairly low, just top it up to where it normally sits and never moves after that. I always check as well, get quite paranoid about it lol. This is how it's happened to me each time i've done it now, so i'd say just top it up and then keep an eye on it cos the levels do tend to fluctuate a little at first in my experience.

I find i dont do the bottom hose up tight enough through fear of overtightening it..

On the other hand i may have doine it up too tight and have split the rad lol..

i wouldnt worry about going low once after emptying the rad and refilling, just fill it to the max mark and see how it goes but if it keeps going low the you may have a leak
