Engine management light and OBD??

    Hello

    My EML came on last night and I have and OBD 2 cable so I downloaded various software but my laptop won't connect to it.

    Pic is below, I had to force the plug in a little but it seemed to fit.

    I have installed the right drivers and the software recognises the cable but it won't connect to the port.

    What am I doing wrong??

    I tried with the key turned and the car started.

    Sorted it, I had to force the connector in more and the laptop eventually saw it.

    Came up as a fault with the lambda so I wiggled the cable around on the one connected to the decat and the light went out!.
    Will get a new one when I can be arsed.
