#2i had this problem mate and it was horrible!!! i ended up buying a decent drill bit and drilling a hole then hamering an allen key bit in the hole and cracking it out with a power bar
-
#3haha its doing my head in :/ i might get stilsons on haha
-
#4id just save the hassel and take it to the garage. they do this shit all the time
-
#5I had this problem
Took it to my brothers mechanic friend who owns a garage,
Think they said they ended up putting something pointy in one of the holes in the nut, slanting it and hammering the metal pointy thing. Cant think what it was lol...if this makes ANY sense ahah -
#6the metal pointy thing could be a 'punch'Quote:I had this problem

#8needle nosed pliars in the holes and turn? had same thing with my old vectra and i jabbed some needled nosed pliars in the holes and with brute strength turned the nuts
-
#9you could take it to a tyre place and they will remove them or buy yourself a locking wheel nut removal socket. it has threads in so as you do it up onto the locker it undoes it as has a reverse thread.
-
#10i had this on mine, fucked around getting the front two off, got that mad doing it so took it to a garage to get the rear ones off they charged me 7.50 a corner
-
#11My locking nuts on mine look exactly the same. I can't get mine off ether so when you get them off let me know how to (:
-
#12You undid wheel nuts with pliers? Hench! OP easier to just take it to the garage for that sort of stuff, as everyone's said they don't charge much either, and you'll probably make a mess of it at home, not an easy thing to do
-
#13my dad just drilled through mine for me
-
#14they must have been some dangerously loose wheel bolts if you could undo them with pliers lolQuote:needle nosed pliars in the holes and turn? had same thing with my old vectra and i jabbed some needled nosed pliars in the holes and with brute strength turned the nuts
that or you have some hulk like hands lol -
#15drill and thread with a left handed tap? put a bolt in and see if it comes loose once tightened.
-
#16plenty of methods to get them off.
locking nut removal kit was one of the best things i was to buy!...made its money back 100 x
-
#17I removed my last ones using a multi-hex deep socket, 13 or 14mm iirc , hit the socket over the center part of the locking nut that sticks out, you would be suprised how well the sockets grip the locking nut even though its round in the middle
-
#18normally locking wheel nuts arent tightened to the same torque as the normal wheel bolts, because they have daft patterns on the the locking wheel nut key's that locate into the grooves on the bolt they cant handle the torque and snap or shear the keyQuote:they must have been some dangerously loose wheel bolts if you could undo them with pliers lol
that or you have some hulk like hands lol
, but most are over tightened as i find at work
-
#19That is as may be, put if you can undo your wheel nuts with pliers....they're not tight enough end of. And what would be the point of a locking wheel nut which has been tightened up to the point that a pair of pliers could undo it?Quote:normally locking wheel nuts arent tightened to the same torque as the normal wheel bolts, because they have daft patterns on the the locking wheel nut key's that locate into the grooves on the bolt they cant handle the torque and snap or shear the key
