show car bonnet strut... where can I get one?!?

   really want one of these as I am tidying up my engine bay where can I get one? would it replace the standard or would it be a second strut? could I just cut and shorten my current strut?
   any help would be appreciated

   They are a custom item
   
   One end secures around the bonnet securing pin the other end secures in the latch so that the bonnet doesnt fly open if it gets windy
