Strange noise.

    Hi all.

    When I start my saxo 1st thing in the morning I have the window open having a fag wwhilst I let the car warm up & from underneath the car there is sound like a metal bin lid vibrating on the underside of the car.I`m thinking heatshield any other ideas?

    Also check the exhaust mount near the front of the car, it's sort of a boxxy section that attaches to the exhaust pipe and often cracks. Mine cracked there and the noise was horrific. Bolting a clamp over it soon shut it up though.

    centre section to downpipe bracket mine rattles like mad the heat sheilds are mounted on plastic so if theyre loose it wont rattle that badly

    Just an update found & fixed the problem this morning,where the centre section joins the back box there is a clamp.The nuts on the clamp were loose,tightened them up & the noise has now gone.

    exact same with my car but couldnt be arsed to tighten it
