Emmisions failure

   I bought my vts as a failure on emmisions although I wasn't given the sheet. I'm tryin to go about sortin it out but don't really know where to start... I know cat, lambda sensor and blows in the exhaust can cause this but I'm lookin for the best cost effective way of solving it...
   
   Any ideas where to start? Cheers, joe

   start by getting hold of the emmissions fail sheet.
   
   test the coolant temp sender, the green one.
   
   test the lambda.
   
   change oil+plugs.
