Arial Removal

  1. #1
Bit random but its been playing on my mind for a while. Thinking just have the arial removed and then fillered/sprayed over to remove the hole.

Anyone had this done, any pics?

What do you guys think? Was thinking it may be a little impractical later on?
  2. #2
Personally probably not worth the money mate? Depends though. If you live in an area with a good signal you could use an internal form of arial, there must be one, otherwise having a shit radio signal will surely get on your tits?
  3. #3
wow never heard of anyone wanting to do this!?

think it would deff cost, dont think its worth it realy, might regret it later on mate

i removed mine the otherday and filled it in. thought i might aswell do this as i was smoothing everything else. will get some pics up tomorrow. although it's not sprayed yet.

Yea get some pics up when you can!

I wouldnt mind about the radio as my MP3s keep me going, but was just thinking like if i wanted to check traffic reports i would be screwed!

yeah thats why i took it off. only listened the the radion once and that was the day i bought it coz i had no cd's with me. so don't need it.
going to take some pics now.

hmm that will look good when painted mate :-)

mioght actually have a go at this today

whats the reason for the gutters down the sides of the roof coz i wanna fill these in aswell.
  10. #10
Guessing the same reason to why there are gutters on a house really?

    Filtering water.

Removing them would be a bit dodgy, after a couple 100 door slams i could imagine the filler cracking!
  11. #11
yeah but there blocked of with rubber runners anyway. can see ya point with the door slamming though. but then that could happen with ma smoothed sides.....
  12. #12
what you had smoothed on the sides?
  13. #13
Im getting this done in 3 weeks,im buying an interior aerial for £13 so i can still listen to the radio.

when you remove the gutters your suposed to get a plate welded in, as they are to deep to just fill and smooth, and the way saxo's like to flex means they'd crack in a wk, looks really nice whan done like

did you have to weld up the hole left by the aerial?

some little bugger nicked my aerial and snapped it off at the base so i was thinking about doing this myself

The gutter things on the roofs are for roof racks.

your better off welding plate inn, as filler has got a horrible habbit of sinking/cracking
