Broken Engine (conrod+crankshaft)

    Hi guys,
    First of all I will introduce myself. My name is John and I grew up in Germany. Last year I moved to Milton Keynes. I got a Saxo VTS 16V MK2 and I got a problem:
    unfortunately an engine doesn't run well without any oil ;-) Last year my Saxo lost oil on the Autobahn and I didn't notice it, or rather I noticed...too late though. Now I got the problem that one of my conrods and the crankshaft got damaged. I was wondering if somebody of you guys could help me out with parts?

    Just get a second hand replacement engine it'll be far easier and cheaper lol

    +1 far less hassle & fit a lower mileage engine & its a win win.

    ya i know. Problem is that the car is still in Germany and to shipping an engine to Germany is quite expensive. Would be way easier if I´d have a second hand crankshaft and the conrod. Then I could go by plane, fix it and come back with the car.
    Do you guys know where I can get second hand parts?

    Get a second hand engine and rob the parts you need? Seriously you'll be lucky to find the parts second hand....

    Would be easy. Pm a guy called Sam_16v his got spare 16v's lumps.

    eh? why? Put a post in the wanted forum here and you'll be flooded with people looking to part with a standard conrod or crank. They're practically worthless second hand so for someone to get money for it would be a result.

    I've still got some standard rods somewhere I'm sure - if someone offered me like £5 each for em or something I'd part with them (if I could still find em!).

    Not exactly rare...
