If it was rusty you need to treat the rust with something like kurust or jolonite. Then a metal etch primer and then pretty much any paint you want and doesn't need to be heat proof. For the best long lasting finish take it to a local bodyshop and get them to paint it in 2k paints.

As said, don't need heat proof paint, would deffo recommend taking it to a local bodyshop and getting them to do it, much more durable and won't cost a lot.

I done a proper DIY job and sprayed mine with black spray even with rust on it, is slowly coming off but until I get the time to do it with proper shizz it will do, has tidied it up alot

Unless its a show car do it yourself

Just take your time to fill it and flat it back at the end and lacquer over

On that note tho, i did mine by flatting down a good base of grey primer, then the yellow filler primer, then your paint, a decent amount of layers 4 + then same with the laquer, just halfords rattle cans mine still seems to be tip top i had done it previouse with only light layers say grey primer two coats colour two and one clear and the laquer started to crack / bubble after a few months
