after id done my conversion i fitted a new clutch. on the turn off key all was fine until i dipped the clutch peddle then let it go and it started grinding like hell. noise would disappear once peddle is dipped. it sounded like an exhaust scraping on the road
anyways iv took the box off to find this......

now the only thing i can think of that lines up with that burn mark is the studs that hold the pads on the clutch plate:

however the studs are sat a good few mm in the pads so i cant see them making contact.
also when i took the gearbox off the fork's on the clutch case where kinda warped (one side of the fork's where a bit more out than the other side) but one of the bolts that hold the case on had rounded and after using a hammer to end up getting the bolt off the folk's straightened up so the vibrations from me hammering might have straightened them up and maybe they where bent in from actually taking the gearbox off. god knows.

anyone ideas what may have caused the burn mark? obv this must have been what was causing the noise, at end of the day its a new clutch, done 0miles so shouldnt go like this
