Which Gearbox????

   Hey folks hows it going just wandering waht gearbox i should put into my vts? Im looking for quicker acceleration been told to use a 106 s1 rallye gearbox? Still planning on throttle bodies and cams so something to suit that

   S1 Rallye box is great, but you will find the shorter ratios a pain if you do much motorway driving.

   my mate dom had a 1.1 gearbox on his saxo vts and that was quick but not that good ofr motorways as revs high at 80 compared to the vts box, the 1.1 box is strong tho never had a fault with it on his vts

   I've got a 1.1 box on a VTR though so it will be different again on the VTS.
   
   Correct me if im wrong but the ratios are slightly shorter on the 1.1 box than the VTS and the final drive isn't as long either.

   No your right about the 1.1 box..
   
   I've seen reconditioned Rallye boxes go for around the £200 mark..
   
   Check on the SSC (is that a dirty word here?), there was one up a few days ago..

   Rallye box is hardcore, you'll be doing 70mph as a max on the motorway though or fighting a nasty headache. May be worth PMing Mankee on the SSC as he is a gearbox whore
