brake question

hello...i bought brake calipers from xsara vts mk1 for 283mm disc and 57mm caliper. they fit nicely...but i dont know if this thing will do properly with std master cylinder! do i need to change it (witch one fits) or this is just plug and play??
..and what about rear brakes....do i need to change them too???
    thanks very much for help.....

Try it with the standard MC and see what you think. The pedal travel will be slightly longer but people prefer different pedal feels. Then if needs be, uprate to a bigger master cylinder. I'm running a 23mm and that's on only 247mm brakes. Almost too big if i'm honest.

Rear brakes 'should' be fine but it's all trial and error. If they start to lock before the front, then a bias valve will be needed.

I think for 283's you do need another MC

ive just bought a set of 283mm 406 brembos and braided hoses for my jp4 mk2 vts which master cylinder would you recommend for me (what difference does 2 or 4 port make?)? also with a braided hose kit do they go all the way to the MC or just up until the metal pipes?
    sorry for the hijack
