   hey guys got a slight problem haha, went to start the car today and as soon as i opened the door i noticed the foot well was submerged in water,
   i dried this up, then went to start my car but it just wouldn't turn over and the alarm started to go off but not full blast ( i sounded really quite ).
   
   so am guessing water has got in to my electrics, now hears my questions -
   
   1. how do i fix this?
   
   2. how do i stop this from happening again ?

   best thing is take off live wire on battery then mop/clean up any water then either wait till it dries out or you could use hairdryer on each switch/clip to dry it all but both ways will take some time
   
   as for stopping it look at your windscreen rubber joints to see if there is no leaks and check the ariel on the roof, make sure your windows were closed aswell

   Sure the heater matrix hasn't dropped all it's water?

   just tried it again and still nothing, but there's now a light on the dash which looks like a key :/

   immobiliser gone a bit dodgy then. Was the passenger footwell wet too?

   no it wasnt wet just the drivers
