starting problems

   My 2001 saxo turns over but will not start, I think it's the immobilser - can I disconect this so the car starts?

   Hi, no I haven't changed the engine, some waste of space tried to nick it, didnt smash ignition barrell but found wire, plastic and like a little circuit board on the floor, assume it was from around the barrell, she turns over but doesnt start. Trying to avoid insurance claim!!

   Souds like the imob ring has been removed so car will be immobilised due to not reading the chip in the key.
