Water leaking from behind front speaker

  1. #1
Have water dripping from behind the passenger side front speaker which is gathering in the bottom of the door seal and overflowing into the car.

Door seals are in good nick, mirror has been siliconed in, and the channel that runs along the bottom of the door is clear. Guess that can only leave the window seal?

Anyone had a similar leak and/ or replaced a front window seal before?

    Cheers

Easy way of finding the leak mate sit in the car and get someone to pour water all around the door and see if you see where its leaking in.

Is your door bent in any way?IE at the top because this will allow water to get in.

    Nah mate.

Just been out in the rain for a look and it's actually coming from behind the speaker, can hear water dripping from the inside top of the door. Guessing it's either the window seal or the mirror.

Updated my first post. Mirror siliconed in and still leaking.

Anyone had a similar leak and/ or replaced a front window seal before?

I have replaced the window seal before(not from leaking)it clips in a certain way IE make sure if fitting one that it goes in the channel by the mirror correctly.Otherwise you`ll have even more water getting in.

Is it a window out jobbie or can you just drop it down and change the seal?

The outer seal can just be gently pulled up from the end,it might help a bit with the window down.No need for removing the actual window itself mate.

my old vts and my mates 106 gti did this. Just wrapped up the speaker wiring to make sure it didnt get too wet and it was fine tbh

only got a few drops of water after rain though. It never built up as you say

Still having problems with this. Water is getting into the door at the very bottom corner of the window next to the mirror. If you point the hose into this corner, the water literally pisses in as if there's no seal there at all.

I've had the exterior weatherstrip off and it seems okay, apart from the end being a bit tired looking. Should I try replacing the weatherstrip first? A bit reluctant to spend £30 replacing it if it's not gonna make any difference though.

    Any help appreciated.
