can be made to fit yes but would be need welding on. get it done at a garage for about £30

thanks for the fast reply, Would a back box of that size reduce performance at all?

not noticeable no. iv got one similar to it on mine. 4" and universal. i asked the garage to use the pipe on the original back box and weld it to the universal one. didnt notice any power loss or gain's. revs felt a little more smooth though. but thats probs the mind just playing tricks lol

    Brilliant, Cheers again!

no worries. just check a price at a few garages and explain you need the to cut ur old box off its pipe and weld the new one in its place. some garages will refuse to fit performance ones. just ask around mate you'll get it on though. like i said thats how mine is. would prefer a direct fitment one so gases run smother but i like the sound of mine

Yeah some garages will refuse to fit universal exhausts as they can be a bitch to fit, just find a small garage somewhere.

Will just this back box on a standard exhaust system be fairly loud at all then?
  9. #9
do you have a centre silencer? wont be stupid loud if so. if nothings changed you will have standard silencer and you cat converter. should have a nice tone though on its own.
if you want loud also ask them to cut out the silencer and weld a steel pipe in its place. thats the cheap way. other way is to buy a race tube. and if you want even louder get a de-cat (also adds a small amount of bhp and free the revs slightly) click my progress thread and scroll up from the very last comment slowly and about 5 comments up there's a vid of mine done in the cheapo way (de-cat. mid silencer removed and pipe welded in place, universal back box).
oh has a 4-2-1 too but hasn't made much noise difference imo

    to save you the bother

all the 4-2-1 has done is give it a bang when hitting rev limiter

tbh mate your best to save a few extra pennies and get one second hand from ebay or someone from here

^^^^ that is the better option i wish i had gone for^^^^^^

for about £40 plus the £30 welding/fitting price you could get a straight fit back box and maybe a race tube with it. get your 100 comments and unlock for sale thread, post on the wanted section, sure enough you will get a decent one

£40 for universal back box £30 to fit it = £70
    for a tenner more http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EXHAUST-BA...ht_2616wt_1163
And you can fit it yourself. plus looks better

If you do anything that involves "Universal" and metal, its always good to know a friend that can weld and wants to do it right for you, so they spend time sorting it how you want. A garage would whack it on for £30 or whatever but may not be as you want.
