Missfiring making me want to scrap car!!! :@

    Hi all
    Got a mk2 vtr
I love the car to pieces but its giving me nothing but grief in the last few months i wish i never bought the thing!!
I had a new custom stainless steel cat back fitted to it (longlife)
And a week after that the car started missfiring, felt like it had no power an couldnt rev up with sluggin to save its life
I put a code reader on it and it read multiple missfiring
I only put in a new coilpack with brand new sparkplugs just befor christmas
I was told it could also be a nackered lambda sensor, faulty fuel filter and to run some redx through it
I done all of them yesterday and the car is still not puttin the power down in certain revs an feels sluggish and shit
When i rev my battery light flickers aswell if thats any help
Any one have ANY answers/advice they can give on what the problem could be and what i need to replace
    Please people!!
    Cheers

Check earths and cable on alternator & gearbox. Get alternator checked.

Cheers for your pointless and worthless comment

Yeah ive been told it could be the alternator

Was the coilpack you put in brand new or second hand? If it's second hand, it's possible you could have put a faulty one in as coilpacks are crap on Saxo's. Could also be a knackered injector or as mentioned above, a loose earth somewhere

Halfords do a free alternator test,i`d get it tested mate.

Coilpack was brand new from euros and the sparkplugs inside swapped for brand new bosch ones

If halfords say your alternator is on its way out check your earths first as i had the same problem so i the alternator and still had the problem, turned out to be loose/coroated earths

Get a compression test so you can see if it is mis-firing on a cylinder, if one cylinder has a different reading to the rest, then I suspect an injector would be knackered
