oright guys i got a vtr had about 2 months now the other day was driven home in the day the car felt as if it was turning the key on and off only for a spilt second and she runs really flat until it happens again but when this happens the dash cock rev counter n speedo just stop working also in the dark the clock lights will go really dim n flicker all this happens all with in 2-3 secs but seems to be doing it more n more .. also the revs are all messed up not sure if this is connected but thorght i would say just in case some times it idles 750-800 really lumpy or 2000 depends how it feels when you turn the key 
right things i have done checked battery was fine . used a tester on the alternator extended the wires n drove her round till the fault happend n that was fine thats about it so far any help would be great cheers
