Standard alarm too sensitive?

  1. #1
Hi Guys, Not long bought my VTS and im still getting to grips with it, i have noticed that my alarm which is the standard one supplied from factory is very sensitive, i can park my car on my mums drive in daylight and it keeps going off every 10mins! yet when i park at home (underground) it is fine..

    Any ideas?
    Regards

Yes, it's the sensors on the a-pillar. They're wank.

You can disable them before locking the car by holding down the button on the dashboard for a few seconds. But this has to be done every single time! Or is possible to cut them out or unplug them from behind the dash.

I've heard of people using after market sensors but never bothered looking into it. Just used to turn my sensors off everytime I stopped the car.

You can do the hairspray trick on them if they to sensitive,
lightly spray them with hairspray and it should stop the alarm going off all the time and the sensors should still work if somebody breaks the window etc,

I did this with my vts and it worked a charm, the alarm doesn't go off randomly but still does it i put my hand through the open window when its armed.

Don't get the hairspray on the window though, its a bitch to get off!!

Ok, Thanks for replys, will try hairspray first as would like them working at least, if not then out they come!
