Idle air control valve issues.

Well it's like this, I had this occurring problem of my car not starting sometimes, cutting out whilst idling, lerching whilst going down the road, nearly cutting out then bursting to life whilst ticking over every 2 seconds. So with this I have changed a lot, spark plugs, coil pack, ht leads, timing belt, crank sensor with NO SUCESS annoyingly. But now it seems the problem is the air idle control valve. Now the ones on eBay which are about 25 quid say they work on item numbers ending 601 and 603. Now does anyone know if these work? I managed to salvage a 603 valve out of a pug from the scrappy which the bloke let me have for free WIN! But that doesn't seemed to have cured it. Is this because it's a pure 603 whereas the new one off eBay is created with the electronics for both items? If this sounds confusing sorry but im getting the point of scrapping the bloody thing as it just keeps emptying my wallet for no reason! Please help ha

Well was hoping to find the right part at the scrappy but like I said found one on a 106 thought that must be same as the rest of the engine was the same but the item numbers say different. But thanks for the heads up with the cheap ones!
