What this??

   Hi guys, finally got round to servicing my car today and came across this hole in my air filter casing when i was changing my air filter.
   
   
   
   Does anyone know what its for or if its even meant to be there was going to plug it but just thought i would check.

   There should be a pipe on your rocker cover that connects to this!

   There wasn't anything attached to it when I took my air filter off and couldn't find any hanging hoses or cables.
   Obviously i'm running my car with out it but is it a necessity?

    it needs to be plugged up, as it stands the engines is able to suck in loads of dirty unfiltered air
    
    as said post up a pic of the engine bay, or is there a small filter on top of the rocker cover(where the oil filler cap is)

    take the small red filter off that pipe and see if the pipe connects on to the air box fitting

    I'm getting rid of all of my hosing and replacing it anyway with Samco, also need a new rocker cover so will have to do it sooner rather than later.

    It was already on when i got the car hence why im replacing everything.

    How long have you been running it like that..? all you need to do is pull the gash filter off and push the pipe back on.

    Erm i got the car last month and prior to that it was sat underneath a tree for 12 months on someone's drive so im not sure how long they have been running it with that on.

    Oil cap i take full responsibility for its just had a service and obviously new oil. Like i say though the red filter will be going when i change all my hoses.
