clicking idle control valve, and strange noise's...could this be the problem to my flat battery? :s

right, so my car was running fine, and i decided to carry out the following work on it:

    - Replace washer jet bottle as it had a hole in it...
    - Adjust my clutch cable (this involved removing battery and tray)
    - and there was a funny noise comming from the 1st valve/shim under both rocker covers, so i took my back rocker cover off to check see if there was any thing noticably wrong, which there wasnt, so put it all back together, reconnected the battery...

I started the car, it fired up, then die, so started it up again and fired up with no problems and continued to run...

I then turn the car off, left ignition on whilst i put my tools away, and the ICV started clicking at random times...

un-plug it and it stopped, so that showe it was the icv...

problem im having now is, the battery is going flat after 5minuets...

i bump the car off, and its fine until the engine has been off for 5mins (once ive taken her for a little run)

BUT the icv has stopped clicking, wtf is going on with my car :s

    also....

If your looking at the engine from the front of the car (16v) the 1st valve under each cover is making a 'growing' sound whilst the rest are making a 'puring' sound...it gets louder the higher the rev's...cam lobes look fine, as do the shim's, can any one shine some light on any of these problems??

Compression is fine, and so is the firing order...

its annoying the hell out of me now, and before it was just a small 'oh it's annoying' but now its a majour inconvinence...

    please help :s

Sorry for the long post lol
