how to tighten.....

    .....the nut on the end of track rod (going into strut) without it spinning?
    and the nut on bottom of drop link?

    they both keep spinning round as im trying to tighten the nuts, iv tried pliers but theres nowhere to place them without splitting the rubber :/

    any help guys

    Pull the rubber back and there should be two flat surfaces on the ball joint for a spanner of pliers to grip.

    If there isnt then you should have the alan or torx type fitment into it.

    how about the top one on the track rod end, theres no allen key or flat sides for a spanner :/

    If you pull back the rubber and use some long nose vise grips on the shaft to hold it whilst you nip it up. Its normally the cheaper ones that don't have the flat surface on them or hex insert in the end.

    As above but if you still can't go to a local garage and see if they will quickly nip it up with an air gun!

    for track rod hit it with a hammer to get it to sit tight in the bracket on the strut then shouldnt spin when tightening, how ive always done it.

    bottom of drop link should have a torx cut out to hold it in place whilst tightening

    use a long bar and push down on the top of the joint then tighten ut up. its how i always do it

    Air/Electric rattle gun should do the trick

    done it now, track rod end got took off for a new one as the threads were knackered.

    i just have an issue with the stupid clutch now
