Smashed rear window?

Just got back into my car about an hour ago to go back down to my girlfriends house and shut my door and smash! rear window is allover my parcelshelf for some reason? heard it can be something to do with the heated screen?

anyway is this usually covered on the insurance as i havent checked yet? if not are they hard to replace myself if i get hold of some glass? cheers

They should be covered on your insurance

My spoiler was ripped off my VTS which is screwed into the window, so it smashed that and £70 later on that day, it was all fixed

dont get your insurance involved, theyll probably take it down as a claim and you'll be bummed on insurance for years to come

its hardly expensive, usually cheaper to just pick up a 2nd hand boot in the same colour for like £40

Insurance dont class it as a claim as you already have window protection on your policy

Mine was covered on the insurance & I just had to pay the £75.00 excess.

If you don't have it covered, its an easy (yet fiddly) job replacing the tailgate. Mine exploded when i was driving, and took me and the stepdad about 2 hours (with brew breaks) to replace, including running the loom through (which is a nightmare)

Just checked with my insurance and im not covered for it because im TPFT looks like im gonna have to sort it myself with either a tailgate or glass, does any1 know if its easy enough to just replace the glass? its just that my tailgate is immaculate paint wise and i think i'm gonna have trouble getting one in as good nick
