Brake disk retaining screw..

Need to change my disks, its not on a saxo, but its the same on most cars.. got 2 Cross/philips/ + screw hears holding the disk on.. Is there any trick of the trade to get these off? Went near one with a screw driver, and it started to slip abit, and i dont want to round them off and have to drill them out..

So anyone with any sort of tip, it would be appreciated!

Hammer and a chizle, make sure the chizle is sharp. Line the chizle up in the screw so its got a grip to it and hammer it as if you are trying to turn the screw round to undo it, nice heavy firm hits a few should get it lose then just undo it with a screwdriver.

If that dont work which it should with the right technique then just drill them out. You dont need them so no loss!

wont the disk flap about without them? Just dont want to be stuck with the new disks flapping about.. :/

So do i hammer the chizel in asif im going straight in, or on an angle on one of the + parts to try and make it turn?

Angle the chisel to make them turn!

Think you're forgetting the disc is in between the wheel and the hub!

Those bolts just hold the disc in the right place while you put the wheel on!
