Suspension queries.

Hi guys, came out to drive my car and the d/s spring/coil thing snapped as soon as I moved.. Fml, the amount I have spent repairing the bastard thing already exceeds what I paid for it. Anyway, evidently I need 2 springs, it's currently not lowered I was looking at lowering it, is the max it can be lowered 40mm without changing front or rear dampers? Can I just have 2 40mm springs put on to replace the current stock springs and get the rear torsion bar adjusted, or should I just replace for standard springs? Don't want more than a 40mm drop at the mo.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

You can lower it as much as you like on standard shocks, its just not recommended. But yes 40mm is the recommended amount. Yes you can have the two 40mm springs fitted, and may as well do it now if you're intending on lowering it anyway.

40mm springs will be fine not much more expensive than standard springs too

Thought as much, thank you guys, could you give me a rough idea on the costs of:

    Replacing standard springs only:
    and
    Replacings Springs + Torsion Lower:

    Including labour etc..

    Thank you,
    Ryan

I've seen garages take between £50-£100 for torsion lowering. Standard springs are around half the price of a recommended spring, like eibach. For the garage to fit the springs might be an extra hour labour max.

I asked him to give me a price. Was really cheap ! He is about an hour away from you I think. If both of your locations are correct
