VTS Rotrex project (almost finished)

  1. #1
    Hi all,

I've almost finished sticking a Rotrex C30-74 on my VTS and have a few questions that I hope someone can help with.

To start it's a 2000 plate Saxo VTS

1: I have bought a boost gauge and I'm not quite sure where the sender unit goes. I would guess it goes on a little pipe that goes from the inlet manifold (near the venturi) to the large round thing that has something to do with the brakes, is this correct?

2: Can anyone recommend where I should get my air from (yes I know that sounds retarded) I have looked at a couple of other supercharger mods and cant seem to find one I think works well (I saw one with the filter attached more or less strait on the charger just above the exhaust manifold! I know its going through an intercooler but really?!?) I've also seen one where they use an enclosed air filter with piping going to a hole in the wing but I want to keep it looking fairly stock. Ideas??

3: I have about .5L of Rotrex supercharger oil and don't really want to buy another whole 1L of it. I have seen on some other sites that it can be mixed/diluted with other oils. Is this a good idea or should I just pay the money for some genuine stuff??

    Cheers

    Mark

Sorry I haven't got any pics of anything interesting here (unless you want to see a pic of the standard VTS alternator fouling the charger bracket!) when I get home I'll pop some up for you.
I saw a post by you about something along the lines of a cold air feed from the fog light hole (might of been someone else) but if it's you would you recommend it?

Would work well through the fog light hole, low is cold, but you've also got the fact that if you go through a puddle... could cost you a fortune, especially with a set-up like yours!
Sorry, im not too sure on the other 2 questions though lol

more important with a forced induction motor than air temp is not restricting it
run a pipe across and fit i big open filter in front of your battery

    oil buy genuine stuff
ring tts performance there the main uk supplier www.rotrexsuperchargers.co.uk

guage wise id try and pipe it.off the inlet manifold itself

Dont mix the oil!!!. If your oil system is routed pretty short half a litre might be enough to get you going as it doesn't hold much.

Is it new oil or used stuff that you have drained?
