Confused about how to lower :')

So at first I was a bit nooby and thought all I need to lower my saxo would be new springs, but then I read the stickies and I'm stumped on whether uprated struts are a necessity or not? originally I was going to lower to 40-50 but I'm more looking towards 35 because of what I read in the stickies about handling. If anyone would be able to help me I would be so grateful!
also I found these springs and wondered if they were any good?

I would get a full kit, but at the moment being a student is limiting what I can do haha! I was going to get springs and then eventually get shocks when I can afford to.
and yeah with the torsion bar people say to go even lower than the front to make the car look level, how low should the rear be if I was to go 40 on the front?
    Cheers!

I must admit I was the same in naivety, and believed just springs would be needed, I also would like to know the complete requirement to lower, because it is more expensive than what it seems!

Right so I can just get springs then for now? And also ive heard the word bumpstops mentioned would these be good to get back ill be keeping the original socks?

Well I have just over basic knowledge I can remove/replace struts and springs it's just the torsion bar. But I have a friend from college who can deal with torsion bars apparently, if not are there any members in Essex that could do it for me? I'm asking a lot here haha

    Cheers Joe.

It's actually £90 for all round or £60 for just the rear. Takes me 2.5 hours for all round or 1hr for ust rear.

I lower the CORRECT way. Not the pikey way. So in all honesty, you need to come to me

tbh, id lower it more than 35mm
i lowered my car 35mm at first then soon got bored and felt it needed lowering so went 60mm. Unless you're very critical about handling or take your car around a track, id lower it no less than 40mm

and AVOID them gmax springs. I tried some once and they felt horrendous. Theyre a cheap budget brand. Get yourself on kam-racing and get either apex, spax or eibach. probably cheaper than them ones you linked aswell

I lowered mine 60mm on standard dampers, did countless track days and countless road miles, when we took the standard dampers out about a year after originally lowering, they didn't appear to be leaking or anything particularly surprising. So lowering 35mm shouldn't cause any issue for concern IMO.

Makes me wish my d/s spring snapped on one of my days off, spent £250 getting both corners done, coulda just bought some 40mm springs and had it lowered, been wanting too for ages but needed it asap for work rather than waiting for spring/ finding someone to lower it etc.

Ah well. I paid £72 each for springs :|
