    cheers

i had the same problem. unbolt the saxsport and move it out the way, then bend the manifold down. you'll have to put a good bit of force in, but shouldnt need to move too far. give it a few tugs then refit the exhaust and try it again

it'll only work if the exhaust gearbox mount is unbolted though

I had the same problem with mine. It would only do it in 2nd, 4th and reverse. I took the exhaust off and used a grinder to shave a few mm off of the metal collar that bolts to the manifold. Problem solved now I've done this

I had the issue but had a better resolve.

Rather than hanging off the manifold which I would hugely advise against (and realistically how likely is it you will bend a cold 3" steel pipe with just your weight!) it would be better to slacken the manifold off at the head, bolt the centre to down pipe underneath, then very slowly tighten backup the bolts on the head, you might also want to lodge something between the pipes as you do this, but I didnt need to.

you are wrong on two counts there

for a start, i can tell you now that i did bend the manifold. im guessing, from the dents underneath, the previous owner had bent it inwards at some point by hitting something on the road. before i bent it, the linkage was touching. afterwards, it wouldnt touch. therefore, i bent it

also, how will slackening it off the head help? as soon as you retighten the manifold to the head it will bring the exhaust back up and hit the gear linkage again
