refurbed axle not lowered?

  1. #1
i bought an axle from imaxles and asked for it to be lowered 50mm, i fitted it yesterday but i noticed when i was putting my spax ajustable dampers on they wouldnt fit... anyways i put the axle on and i had to jack up the trailing arms in order to fit the dampers on. i then put my car back on the floor and it sat like this...

i had lowered a torsion bar 50mm before and the distance from the top of the hub to the arch was 42cm without the dampers attached, but the refurbished one was 42cm with the dampers off. so i took the torsion bars out and put it up to 37cm. put the car on the ground and it sat around what it used to when it was 50mm. i rang up imaxles and told them that it wasnt lowered but he assured me that it was the same as all the other they had lowered...

sorry for an essay but im confused, anybody know what was wrong?

The dampers thing is the same on all axles, you usually have to move the trailing arm up for dampers to fit. Doesn't matter what height its at.

Out of the hundreds or thousands of axles they do this would be the first one.
