gear stick moving

   can any 1 tell me why my gear stick wobbles from side to side its really annoying..

   It's a common things, replacement linkages can make it better and im sure theres a thread about removing it completely but haven't done it myself so couldn't judge

   It will be but because the rubber joints in the linkages have worn

   They all do it slightly. Replacing the linkages will help it slightly but didn't fix mine completely. There is still a little play in the control arm on my gearbox even without the linkage attached.

   hi i have a 1.4 saxo furio and it slips out of 2nd and 5th, also when i accelerate harshly my gearstick jerks back and when i let off the juice it shoots forward anyone have ne ideas of what the problem is?????

   roll pin on selector arm on gearbox is worn, bit of a pain to knock out but worth doing

    no, the roll pin i mentioned causes side to side play. yours is either worn linkages, soggy rear engine mount or goosed box

    Tried that roll pin myself and it did fuck all
    
    Best change the long bar thing underneath that joins to the gear stick. No idea what is called. I cba to bother to change it..

    Get under the car and pull the linkage off the control arm.
    
    If you can move the arm from left to right without moving the gearbox bit (it will make sense when you see it) then replacing the linkages will not make any difference.
    
    I replaced my whole linkage system and I still have a little play which seems to be in the box itself but it selects gears fine so im not going to worry.

    No need to fix it. Every saxo i've had has same problem. Nothing to threat about.

    Thats a shagged gearbox mate, syncros have gone causing it to jump out of gear when driven, my old box did it drain the gearbox oil and have a look on the drain plug, im sure there will be peices of syncro ( look like piston rings ish ) only get little peices

    The damage is already done, rebuild is the only recourse or a good replacement box (gamble)
