As the title says really i have to replace both cv's now i have the parts so thats not the problem i was just wondering how much it would be to get them done by a garage because im not that confident to do it myself

You could get and fit both driveshafts yourself for the price you are paying a garage to change both CV's.

You could also unlock a ecu for less than half what they charge on here, but you cant do it, so you pay for it to be done.

Your arguement is flawed because you CAN change a driveshaft yourself.

only if you know what your doing or if your confident that you can do it without messing it up which i am not hense giving it to someone else to do

Driveshaft change is pretty easy mate tbh aslong as you got the tools to do it. I had a pair of outer and inner CV supplied and fitted for me for £50

Understand where you're coming from, a few people i know dont have a clue how to do the simplest jobs in my eyes, some people just arent mechanically minded. To be fair the price you have isnt bad.

Devil is right in everything he says.

£80 labour + parts, 2 new ABS shafts are less than £120.

I have no experience, never been showed anything, and don't even have a father who's into cars to ask questions.

Driveshafts were the first thing I changed on my car using a Haynes manual, no special tools required other than a torque wrench for cars using a tapered style wheel bearing (very important a tapered bearing has the hub nut done up to exactly 250NM for all of you who didn't know)

and thats the only problem with doing it at home, unless you got a big ass torque wrench it more than likely won't go upto 250Nm
