Oil and handbrake light?

    My oil and handbrake light keep flickering when not accelerating, i have come to understand this is due to oil pressure. (so garage who did my head gasket said) is there any way to regain pressure without changing the whole engine?

    Plus will it fail its MOT if lights are flickering?
    Also theres a tapping noise when engine is running
    Garage have told me engine is nackered but it wasnt doing this before head gasket was changed.

    Any help/advice would be much appreciated

    What oil did they use when they replaced it after the head gasket and did they do a oil flush with flushing oil?

    We had this in work once and it turned out the oil we put in the car after the head gasket was too thin.

    Just ask what oil they used and if they replaced the filter and did a flush after the head gasket was changed.

    Could also be that your oil pick up is blocked with shit or your oil pump isn't at its best both would cause lack of pressure.

    okay i will do this first thing tomorrow. they tried putting new oil sensor on today but that didnt work. so ill bare these in mind when ringing them

    Can someone tell me of this will pass MOT with lights showing? Im having a few different answers some saying yes some saying no. Please gelp

    Might just come up as an advisory,try putting some engine oil flush into the engine warm the car up,then drain the oil.Put fresh oil in & change the filter.

    Tapping noise can be low oil pressure,the other way of doing it is to drain the oil remove the sump & clean out the oil strainer.

    Yes I been told oil pressure. Would this be causing the dasboard lights too? Ill get someone else to do all that as I dont know what they are

    The two come on together when the oil pressure sensor is failing/failed.

    Do a google search for how does an oil pressure sensor work or what is one and youll know what youre looking to buy and change.
