radiator fan + intermittant pas

before anyone says, demister and blowers work fine. My power steering died mid drive earlier, and in the process of looking i realised the fan wasn't kicking in either. the steering did kick back in after a drive and then became intermittant (kicks in on corners!!) Which might be the pump(??) But is there any connection with that and the fan, and any easy way of testing all the components??

Hi m8 dont know if you saw my post on here about intermitent pas. Basically had the same problem bar the blower. Fairly sure the pas steering is down to the grey relay connected to the main power leads coming from the pump. Dont think the blower and pump are connected. Hope this helps, just something to check if your tearing your hair out lol

Update, im getting power to the relay, changed it and no joy. I have no idea if the pas problem has anything to do with the cooling fan not kicking in, but its hideous timing none the less.

Basically, does anyone have a diagram for the pas wiring? Its not in haynes suprisingly, and just need to figure out where the feeds come from as most of it joins to the large multiplug :/

All I do know is that the pas is on a different circuit to the fan, when I had pas problems & googled it someone on another forum mentioned there being another relay for the pas either at the top of the fusebox(interior)or near it.Sometimes the ignition switch itself can give pas problems too.

Changed relay, no joy. Might try another though as could have picked a dud. Ignition seems fine as blowers and demister work but will do the fix anyway

Fixed. Bumping incase anyone has same problem and for reference. The problem was the live from the battery to the fusebox had worked loose from the crimp on the battery terminal, so there was no power to the fusebox. How anything worked at all is a mystery to me, but squished it back in and taped for temp fix until i get a new terminal. Guessing its down to the shit battery tray design where theres nothing to stop it sliding left to right.
