changing the driveshaft

    does anyone know where i can get a guide to changing the driveshafts on the saxo. I've had a look around but cant seem to find one. wanting to do it myself as long as its not to complicated thanks guys

    its simple dude jack it up whip the wheel of take the ball joint bolt off take the size 30 drive shaft nut off. then wedge the wishbone down to pop the ball joint out of the bottom of the strut. hit the end of the driveshaft with a lump hammer once or twice to loosen it off the strut then pull the strut away from the car and the driveshaft will fall out of the gearbox. and slide the other one in real quick as gearbox oil will be pouring out.

    did this over the week end and only took me 45mins from start to finish.
    when your working at it and look at it you will know what all needs to be taken off ive you have any common sense that is

    its better to drain the gearbox oil , change shafts then fill with fresh oil (2litres)

    cheers danny any particular brand of oil or will any do?

    Personally i like to use the oil Citroen recommend; Total Bv 75w80. Cheap as well. £10 for the 2 litres needed to do an oil change. Can get it from Citroen dealership. If you're not too bothered what you put in it, just go to local motor factors.
