Important! : swapping standard shocks for Bilstein Shocks

    Hi iv'e received a pair of Bilstein rear shocks to help with my lowered saxo. How easy it it swap over and what tools are needed?

    Aiming to get this done today so need a quick answer

    Also do they need adjusting to suit my needs or do they just act as standard but have more tention when weight is put upon them?

    Trolley jack
    Axle stands
    Spanners
    Socket set

    You don't get shortened rear shocks. They will just have different rebound and damping rates.

    Also you will need something to remove the cap holding the front shocks in. I used a hammer and a blunt chisel

    Yeah I had to do it coming up the road. Stopped at Preston and realised what it was. Had no option but to cable tie it on. Lasted all the way past Glasgow from Preston like that lol

    but surely the bolt must have cross threaded? the cable tie must have been a temp fix as its dangerous reling on cable ties.

    The threaded part of the bolt is free, normally held in place by a nut. The nut had vibrated loose, so the bolt could have come out on a bump. I cabletied it in as a temp fix to get me home (240miles, mostly motorway) and then just stuck a new nut on it. Been fine since, and I think that was about 5years ago lol.
