Squeaky / Creeky clutch problem - VIDEO

  1. #1
    Hi all

    EDIT:
Starting to think its more the cable as its more of a squeak. Heres the video:

My clutch pedal makes a loud creaking sound when u depress / release it.
Im thinking it could be the release bearing on its way out. What ways are there of checking?
    Anyone had this problem before?

The gearbox does have a loud whine but im putting that down to the hard engine mounts. The whine goes away when you depress the clutch too.

Please help, getting a bit worried that it wont make it to FCS

    ahaaaaa!! a familiar noise!!

I had this on my 1.1 - like a seal (the animal) noise!!

I can't remember if I solved it properly in the end or not. But I think I tried pumping wd40 up the clutch cable piping (you know what I mean? Like you used to on push bike cable brakes after being out in the rain?)

It was so long ago that I can't remember if it solved it or not though. Might be worth a try...

Same noise on mine for a while. I carried on using it for few months and then the clutch went. If its only just started doing this you can get to FCS & back but i'd recommend a fix soon as you can because when mine eventually went (after about 1200 miles motorway driving over couple of months) I was unable to select any gear with engine running & it had to be towed to garage.

I do 1200 miles a year lol. Just going to keep driving it. Only makes the noise now and again. New engine and gearbox going in somewhen anyway
