Important! : Mileage

    Hey.
Not sure if anyone can give me any advice for this but I'm wanting to fit some replacement saxo dials in mine, reason is for the rev counter as the one I have currently only has a clock which is useless.
The one I've seen that I want is currently reading 42k and my mileage is 89k or something, how would I go about getting the new dials set to match my current ones?
They're these dials that I need btw...

Id personally fit your old speedo to that set gauge pod.
There are ways an means to forward on the mileage and I'm not sure the mods would be happy with people effectively telling you how to clock a car

Would it be difficult to do it that way or not?

Even if you do fit the clocks, the rev counter may not work because I think i`m right in saying that you need to run a wire from the ecu to the back of the clocks. Not sure which pin on the ecu though.

Might be worth finding out off some more knowledgeable members how easy it would be for you to fit MK2 digital clocks to your car.

Digital clocks can be programmed to any mileage you want so your current exact mileage could be programmed in. Think theres also a guy on here who can do it.

If its not possible, it will probably be due to ECU differences in the car, but like I said I don't know enough about that.

Yeah just find out if its possible first, might want to start a new thread and put that clearly as the title 'Can a Mk1 use Mk2 clocks/dials?'

I think converting from MK1 clocks to MK2 involves major wiring, giving mk1 clocks have about 5 connectors on and the mk2 without looking as I am at home and cant remember only has 2
to change the speedo dial is fairly easy you will need to take the whole unit apart though
    which is simply removing screws
one thing though as said earlier I dont think the rev counter will work without a little wiring work to your car
