airbag and steering wheel for mot

   hi all , can someone clear up the new mot laws, heard so many different things, i have an omp wheel with no airbag, will i need an original one fitted? Also can any standard wheel and airbag fit any car or does the airbag have to be programmed to the car, just incase i need to pop scrappy

   if you need a steering wheel and airbag i have one sat redundant just removed from my saxo vtr. call it £25 posted

   no airbag, no mot.

   so i need a standard wheel, can i just bolt the original wheel and bag on without wiring it ( leave my resistor in )

   yea , just more hassle wiring it in for a test then taking it back off, or do they check it works somehow lol?

   so long as the light comes on, and goes off again, its "working" defective airbag will keep the light on or off.
   
   i personally, dont give a shit, aftermarket wheel and no airbag shouldnt be a fail imo.
   
   but yes, if it has one as standard, then it should be there.

   ah cool, yea the resistor makes it go on then goes out so just got to bolt the old one back on to look good, yea its pretty pants aswell as my inner cv boots being split

    or try j&r on ebay they are where i got my inner cv boots from they came with the metal sleeve and were like £12 for the pair if i remember rightly, also easy to change if you know how. lol they quite easy to do so if anyone needs help doing this let me know as i did mine recently

    well if you want the steering wheel and airbag then as said before i got one sat here doing nothing

    also, if i put the omp wheel back on after mot, would that cause bad news if i got pulled over?

    MOT's work on the "It was okay when it left here" moto, so it should be okay. If you get pulled im sure you'd have other issues rather than them giving a flying feck about a steering wheel.

    Sorry to steal your thread, but my air bag light is on constantly, i dont know what im looking for to see if it broke or not or what the connection looks like..anyone give me some sort of idea.
