bore condition.

have just stripped my engine down after a year of running.
now ive been burning oil alot, and recently smoking alot in the mornings on start up.

looking at the head a couple of stem seals are shot,

however looking at the bores they are very shiney and oily. im guessing this is a sign that the rings havent bed in properly.

but am in need of some advice before i decide my next step.

would a hone and new rings do the job, if i hone would i need larger rings ???

If you hone a bore you will need the new bore size measuring, most engineering companies will measure the bore and make you the correct rings to suit.
