Same problem for me. No water coming down the pillars but there is rust appearing from under my dash. The water does not taste of coolant though, only water, which is what I don't get

I had this with my saxo and fixed it the other day.

There are two pipes that run down the side of the sunroof to let excess water out, they could well be blocked or like on my saxo, the part the pipes drain has actually rusted through in wich case wait for a few dry days in which you give it plenty of air and then fill the holes with resin.

    Hope this helps.

My pipes are not blocked but how would I check if it's rusted? Would it be a sunroof out jobby?

No, just pull back the roof lining mate

You can see it if you take the sunvisors off and pull the headlining down, but only if theres already a hole, need to take the sunroof out and clean up any surface rust and paint it in an ideal world. Which is a little more involved, wouldn't say it was hard, just a bit delicate. To the OP is it getting in through one of the holes in the bulkhead? If its only on one side.

Well you said drivers side so it could still be getting in the windscreen seal but drivers side, if you stick your head in the footwell, look up behind the dash, is the bulkhead damp anywhere up there? Would be my guess as to where its coming from tbh.

I did that with brake fluid, "is that water or brake fluid?" it wasn't water

Well if it is your windscreen i'd imagine a decent independent windscreen fitter could come and replace the seal fairly cheaply? Or could have a go yourself with some decent sealant, but i'd give a windscreen fitter a call first and see how much they'd charge maybe?

Cheers I'm gonna strip dash out and take a look see what's going on
  23. #23
I'd have a look up behind with a decent torch before you go stripping it right out lol.
