when i first start my car when its cold it sounds fine when on tickover but when say i come to pull off or raise the engine revs its sounds really rough but as soon as its warm it sounds fine? all be it a bit tappety!? anyone else experience this?

#4no, i changed all the oil, all the coolent etc just as a guess at it , nothing changed.....is yours tappy, like if you put or window down and just rev up slowly and listen is it like rattley/tappy??

#5Yes mate mines tappy!! Seems we have the same sorta problem lol! I let mine warm before I drive it, what mileage is yours on? Mines on 87k with a cam belt change at 67 so its not as if its overly high mileage

#6My vtr sounds similar and it's done 94 k it's had a Cambelt when it was supposed ad it's been services regular and looked after I don't know what it could be

#8You can adjust the tappets on the VTR.
Do a search for tappets. From experience I've found the vtr's to be a little 'tappety' anyway but if it is really bad then try adjusting them.
Otherwise i think all cars are a little rough on a cold morning that's why you shouldn't rev them up high until they are warm.
