Any1 know how much oil a golf 1.9 sdi takes?

   just changing the oil on my mums car and im not quite sure how much oil it takes, ive found its about 4.5litres for the tdi but can't find any info on the sdi engine.

   most cars are 4.5 - 5 ltr. Just put 4 litres in then go steady and keep checking the dip stick.

   that doesn't even wet the end of the dipstick in our clio, 7.4 litres!! thats more then a tdi land rover! but yes, start at 4 litres,then keep checking. Or ask on a VW forun?

   should only be just over 5, I always used a 5l can of synpower and then a wee bit more to bring it up the mark! How odd

   it is around the 4.5 mark of 5w/40 PD oil for the golfs.

   thanks all, put 4.5 litres in and looks about right on the dipstick will just give it another check tommorrow
